Frequently asked questions
Are there seed oil free restaurants in Salt Lake City?
Vessel Kitchen and Aubergine Kitchen both publish whole-kitchen seed-oil-free commitments: Vessel Kitchen cooks in beef tallow and ghee throughout its menu, and Aubergine Kitchen uses European extra-virgin olive oil across all preparations. Redmond Heritage Farm Kitchen, a farm-owned kitchen and store in Sugarhouse, cooks with tallow, lard, butter, and ghee from its own farm operation. The Happy Chick, a dedicated gluten-free food truck, fries its entire menu in grass-fed beef tallow across the metro. Rawtopia in Millcreek publishes a headline "No Seed Oils" commitment alongside its gluten-free, dairy-free organic menu. Contento Cafe in South Salt Lake and Chicken Boy in Provo both fry in beef tallow at the dish level (chips and taquitos; fries), and downtown's Spencer's For Steaks and Chops names beef tallow for its poached scallops and a bearnaise sauce. All have Utah metro locations or coverage.
